Deere to Spend $58 Million to Upgrade Seeding Operations

According to a report today in the Quad-City Times, Deere & Co. will invest approximately $58 million to enhance operations at its John Deere Seeding operation in Moline, the company announced this morning. Deere said the investment will be made in conjunction with a new factory master plan that targets enhancements in efficiency and quality. Improvements will include a new paint system and increased use of automation and robotics.

Mahindra Tractors Sells 28,872 Units in the Domestic Market During October 2012

Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the U.S. $15.4 billion Mahindra Group, maintained its leadership position in the tractor industry in October 2012. Domestic sales in October 2012 stood at 28872 units, as against 30519 units during October 2011. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in October 2012 stood at 29565 units, as against 31838 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month of October 2012 stood at 693 units.
