Farm Equipment editors were on the ground for  this year's Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Ill. These are their top takeaways from the show.

1. NEXAT System Turns Heads

Terrakamp’s all-in-one NEXAT system delivered on the hype in its first appearance at the show. Terrakamp’s booth was consistently packed with attendees who were pulling out their phones to shoot videos and photos of the impressive machine.

2. Big Bud is Back!

After announcing its return to the industry earlier this year, the brand new Big Bud 700 was on full display at the show. The new model is clearly taking some design inspiration from the original "box-y" models, in the best way possible.

3. Strip-till manufacturers were on the scene.

This year's show saw multiple strip-till equipment manufacturers showing off new products.

  • Lynx owner Lance Glendenning explained how the company’s new high-flow air system can help increase strip-till efficiency.

  • Yetter AOR Manager Andy Thompson showed us the brand-new Fast DuraPlacer strip-till toolbar with Yetter Strip Freshener CCs. He says the new machine increases the speed and efficiency of a strip-till operation.

  • Vulcan Equipment’s Don Slagel gave us a first look at the company’s new 24-row strip-till bar.

4. New Holland once again presented the details of their dealer network.

At New Holland's media event on Wednesday morning, New Holland Brand President Carlo Lambro gave an overview of both the company's current dealer network and its history in the electric and alternative fuel spaces.

6. Autonomy in Action

Raven showcased the 3rd level of autonomy — operator assisted autonomy — with Raven Cart Automation, which is now available for pre-orders. The company says the technology is designed to reduce operator stress by 22% for tractor operators and 33% for combine operators, allowing harvest operations to be more efficient. We hopped in the cab for a ride-a-long with autonomy specialist Adam Lowe.
