Richard Christman, age 76, passed away suddenly but peacefully with his wife by his side on August 4, 2026, in Hinsdale, IL.
Christman dedicated his career to advancing innovation, operational excellence, and growth in manufacturing. He spent more than three decades in senior leadership roles at Fiat Industrial (CNH), including President of Worldwide Case IH, President of the North American Agricultural Business, and Chief Commercial, Governance, and Supply Chain Officer. He also served as CEO of The GSI Group.
Beyond his corporate accomplishments, he served as an Executive Partner at Giant Partners, advising organizations on growth strategies. He made lasting contributions to the industry as Chairman of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and as a member of its Board of Directors. In addition, he served on the Board of Trustees of Carthage College, reflecting his commitment to education and leadership development.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Malazdrewicz) Christman; brother Tom and sisters Jaigne and Karla; children Laura, Amanda (Kramer), Christa, Danielle, Brittany (Haverstock), Janessa, Anthony, and Steven; and grandchildren Slade, Jetlyn, Anthem, Aurora, Halle, James, Aiden, and Loretta.
Christman will be remembered not only for his exceptional professional achievements but also for his humility, integrity, mentorship, and the genuine relationships he built throughout his life. He was a man of great integrity.
