Wet weather continues to hamper farmers from getting their corn and soybeans out of the field and into the bin. As of Nov. 12, USDA is reporting that 83% of corn acres and 93% of soybeans had been harvested.

This puts corn behind last year’s pace of 92% on this date, as well as the 5 year average of 91%. On average, the 5 largest corn producing states have harvested 84% of their corn crop, with Minnesota lagging the most with only 79% in the bin.

At 93% harvested, soybean growers are only slightly behind last year’s average for this date, which was 96%. The 5 year average for soybeans harvested as of Nov. 12 is 95%.
