You’re likely familiar with the term discombobulate — to cause to be in a state of confusion — but unless you find yourself in the Milwaukee airport, where our staff flies in and out of, you are likely unfamiliar with the Recombolulation Area.
After passing through security, shoes and belt in their hand, and laptop balanced under their armpit, travelers in Milwaukee are greeted by a sign — Recombobulation Area. It’s an area meant to reset, get yourself together, take a deep breath and reconfigure your compass.
Think of the Dealership Minds Summit (DMS) as the ag equipment industry’s recombobulation area. Attendees have told us what DMS has done for their business, including digesting some of the biggest changes seen in the industry — and in some cases recovering from some “shell shock” — since the first Summit was held in 2013. (Fun side story, I had to fly to Kansas City for that first DMS while still recovering from food poisoning … so believe me I had some recombobulating to do.)
The 2-day event gives you a chance to step away from the business briefly, meet with industry peers from across North America and beyond of different brands and different experiences and look at your business under a new lens.
This year’s theme — The Fully Absorbed Dealer — includes these recombobulation points for businesses in 2025:
- Diagnosing Dealership Success — Boosting Absorption by 30 Points in 10 Years
- Upselling Parts & Service
- Troubleshooting from a Centralized Location
- Dealer Toolbox — Technology & Other Tools to Help Get Absorption Under Control
- Titan Machinery’s Journey to a ‘Fully Absorbed Culture’
- Controlling What You Can Control
- Plus, 14 different roundtable discussion topics
DMS is one of my favorite weeks of the year and I always return to the office energized and ready to go. If you haven’t registered yet, I hope you’ll give some serious thought to recombobulating with us in Iowa City. Use code BLOG25 and save 25% off your registration.
