Located in Lynden, Wash., the hub of the agriculture community in Whatcom County, Scholten's Equipment is one of four major agriculture equipment dealers in an estimated 20 million dollar total local market. They also have a second location in Burlington, Wash., as a part of Skagit County. Scholten's has a substantial market built up in the rest of Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, Canada. Started by Duane and Arlene Scholten in 1980 with a single employee, Scholten's began buying and selling used equipment out of the Midwest, the company was incorporated in 1984. Scholten's Equipment is an authorized dealer of Kubota, CLAAS, JCB, Trioliet, Jamesway, JBS, Massey Ferguson/AGCO (hay & forage only), Kawasaki, Agco Hesston, Landpride, Rankin, Haybuster, and Westendorf.

Founded with roots as a small machine shop and repair facility, the company made the transition by manufacturing new parts to replace those that were identified as commonly needing repair.
