Less than a month after Spencer’s Case-IH dealership was sold, the community's only other implement dealer, Northwest Equipment, has been sold to a South Dakota family.

The John Deere outlets in Lake Park and Sibley, Iowa, also were sold for an undisclosed amount.

Noteboom Implement, which owns John Deere stores in Corsica, Parkston, Chamberlain, and Platte, S.D., closed the deal late Tuesday. Northwest Equipment has been owned by Dave Hultgren and Pete Hegg for the past 25 years. The seven facilities have more than 200 employees.

Management and staff will be unchanged at the three stores. Bob Warren is the store manager in Spencer, and Robin Kolpin and Bob Schlesser are the store managers in Lake Park and Sibley, respectively. A new 28,000-square-foot facility in Sibley is under construction, with completion expected in March.

Peter Junior Noteboom became a silent partner in the existing Corsica, S.D. Deere dealership about 50 years ago, then opened a sales and parts facility in Platte, S.D. He purchased the Parkston and Chamberlain operations in 2008.

The family business now is run by his sons, Dan and Mike Noteboom, along with grandson, Justin.
