WASHINGTON, D.C. — Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) presented House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-Pa.) with the 2026 AED Legislative Leadership Award during the 2026 AED Policy Conference & Advocacy Day, held June 1-3 in Washington, D.C.

The award recognizes lawmakers that demonstrate leadership on issues important to the equipment industry, including agriculture, infrastructure, workforce development and economic growth, and whose tireless advocacy has helped advance the industry's pro-growth agenda.

"Chairman Thompson has been a great champion for policies that benefit the businesses that build, feed and fuel America," said Brian P. McGuire, AED president and CEO. "His leadership on agriculture and workforce issues has helped support equipment dealers, their employees and the customers they serve. We're proud to recognize his impact on our industry with the 2026 AED Legislative Leadership Award."

Thompson accepted the award from McGuire and AED Board member Earl Marshall of Marshall Machinery during AED's annual Policy Conference & Advocacy Day, where equipment dealers and manufacturers from across the country met with lawmakers and Trump administration officials to discuss the industry's top legislative and regulatory priorities.

Congressman Thompson has served in the House of Representatives since 2008 and represents Pennsylvania’s thirteenth congressional district. In addition to serving as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, he is a senior member of the House Education & the Workforce Committee and co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Career and Technical Education Caucus.

The AED Legislative Leadership Award is presented annually to policymakers who have demonstrated leadership on issues important to the equipment industry. Previous recipients include House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.), House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-Mo.), former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), former Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.) and House Rules Committee Chairman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.).
