Birkey’s Farm Store started when three brothers approached International Harvester in 1954 after the local dealer died. Hall of Famer Ron Birkey's father ran an Alice Chalmers dealership from 1946-1954 before joining his brothers. Ron initially pursued architecture and radio/television but joined the family business in 1977 after working for International Harvester for f4 years. He managed stores, became ag sales manager, then president/CEO from 2000-12, retiring in 2018.
