In mid-May, the management of Carl F. Statz & Sons Inc. located in Waunakee, Wis., announced on its Facebook page that the dealership would be closing on June 30.
The 3rd-generation dealership, Carl F. Statz & Sons has been a Polaris and New Holland dealer, as well as a Case IH Service Center, selling farm implements, lawn and garden equipment and recreational vehicles. Over the past 6 weeks, the dealership has been holding sales and will, after the closing is official, look to auctions and liquify the inventory or return equipment and vehicles.
A June 20 article in The Star, covered the dealership’s background, and the long and strong history of its multi-generational management. Her article noted the family’s history, including the third-generation Statz team, made up of Dean, who has worked at the dealership for 38 years, and cousins Mike, Brad, Mark and Bob. Each had a different role.
According to The Sun, Carl F. Statz & Sons had approximately 30 employees, which included family members. It added that Dean said they’ve worked to ensure they could find placements for its staff at other companies.” Dean and Mike both plan to retire.
In a June 26 Facebook post, Carl F. Statz & Sons, Inc. offered this message:
“To say that we're thankful for all the years, all the great customers and all of our employees would be an understatement. Thank you to everyone that has done business with Carl F. Statz & Sons since 1930. That's 95 years of service to Waunakee and the Midwest. Thank you to the hundreds of great people who worked here at Carl F. Statz & Sons. Thank you to Carl F., Ron, Ken, and Hunts for making this a wonderful place to work. Thanks to Mark, Bob, Brad, Mike and Dean for your leadership and for continuing the tradition of excellence your fathers and grandfather established. We're proud of our history and the work we've done keeping farmers in the field, Polaris customers on the trails, and thousands of lawns neatly mowed. THANK YOU AGAIN TO OUR CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES!
