AGCO Corp. announced that a new dealership group — True Ag & Turf — is joining its dealership network after reaching an agreement in principle to acquire 3 Nebraska AGCO dealers: Manzer Equipment, Osmond, Neb.; Merz Farm Equipment, Falls City, Neb.; and West Point Implement of Columbus, Columbus, Neb. The acquisition is expected to be effective in early July 2023, AGCO says, adding that the new dealership group will provide expanded sales and services at all its locations for AGCO’s full lineup of brands and equipment, including Fendt and its Rogator application products as well as Massey Ferguson.

Each of the dealers that True Ag is acquiring will keep their local management and staff for what AGCO calls “seamless continuity of sales and services to customers.” Nathan Wisehart, CEO for True Ag & Turf, says, “True Ag will be focused on expanding sales and services in the area by building on the histories and hard work of our predecessors.”

Mitch Merz, general manager for Merz Farm Equipment, says while the names on the buildings will change, the people and passion in those buildings will remain the same. "The relationships that we have spent generations building will continue to be developed," he says. "The focus on customer support will be our first and foremost priority. We will be adding the tools necessary to keep that customer focus. True Ag will expand the offerings at each location to a full catalog of AGCO products, with Fendt including RoGator along with Massey Ferguson, Gleaner, Hesston, Sunflower and Precision Planting."

Merz says his role within the new organization will be to focus on the brand experience and some sales. Rounding out the leadership team at present will be Leah Orr, currently with Manzer Equipment, who will be CFO for True Ag & Turf, Merz says. For the immediate future, the new dealership group will operate out of each of the former dealership locations in Osmond, Falls City and Columbus, he adds.

Merz Farm Equipment produced a video introducing True Ag & Turf. It can be viewed below.
