The 9R, 9RT and 9RX win the race to convince the international jury.

It wasn’t the mere power (up to 691 hp) or size that convince the FARM MACHINE 2022 jury. The first reason that comes to mind for Peter Skilton, jury member and editor of Farm Machinery Journal (UK), is the connectivity and automation features of this modern tractor. But the 9 series has scored other points with the jury as well: “Having worked with the machine in the field, we and other jurors would mention the low noise level in the cabin despite the high performance level," Skiltion adds.

And, he continues, the cabin is very comfortable because Deere sponsor an individual chassis to each member of the 9 series, which comes as wheeled, double-tracked or delta-tracked tractors.

This is Deere’s New 9

Deere have given their 9 series a major do-over. All models come with more power and all but the largest one receive an all-new, Deere-made engine with up to 649 hp. The top model still operates with a Cummins motor. To deal with the plus in power, Deere now install their e18 powershift transmission and have strengthened the tracks. The large and quiet cabin which we already know from the 8R /7R series makes working with the new top Deere real comfortable.

A jury of experts, formed by 14 farming media brands from North America and Europe, award this title biennially during Agritechnica, the world’s leading trade fair on farm equipment. They evaluate equipment in 12 categories from “Tractor XXL“ to “Logistics“. Additionally, farmers, contractors and operators from all over the world voted on their favorite pieces of equipment for the FARM MACHINE 2022 Audience Choice Award. The award is organized by traction magazine.
