In 2016, a massive fire destroyed Green Diamond Equipment’s Summerside, P.E.I, store, but on Nov. 2 the dealership celebrated the grand opening of the new 31,200 square foot store, reports the Journal Pioneer.

“We lost tens of millions of dollars between parts, equipment, customer equipment, and the building itself,” Tina Sears, the CEO of Green Diamond Equipment, told the paper. “The old building was home to a lot of long-term and close-knit employees since it first opened in the late 90’s, so they lost a special spot.”

In designing the new facility, the dealership focused on safety. The building features a fire sprinkler system and is a state-of-the-art, re-engineered steel and concrete building. Fire suppression and worker safety were priorities in the new store.
