A look at the prototype of the medal-winning AGCO Xaver autonomous seeding unit at Agritechnica 2017. The system is programmable, and 12 units are the equivalent of one, 8-row planter. Ten units can plant about 2.5 acres per hour and they will be field tested in 2018, with production tentatively planned for 2020.
A sneak peek at the new GrainSense mobile monitoring system. Measures moisture and
protein in wheat, barley, oats and rye in near real-time, with additional crops being tested.
The system can be used ahead of harvest to time optimal harvest window. Relays data to
mobile app in 30 seconds after scan. Initial cost will be about $4,500 and the product is
scheduled to be released in Finland and Sweden in 2018.
For the first time, at Agritechnica 2017, Reichhardt Electronic Innovations showcased its
ISOLift compatible electronic linkage control solution. The system is retrofittable and has a
tractor-implement-management (TIM) interface allowing for seamless communication
between the tractor and controller.
