Considering where corn and soybean crops were just a few weeks ago, yesterday’s USDA crop progress report indicates that the condition of both is starting to look better.

The corn crop is now 92% emerged, somewhat behind the average pace over the last 5 years of 97%. While it remains 5% behind, this is an improvement from 7% last week and 8% the previous week.

USDA reports the soybean crop is 66% emerged, now 14% behind the average pace over the last 5 years (80%), compared to 19% behind last week.
