An industry group says retail sales of farm tractors and combines in the United States surged last month.

The Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers reports U.S. farm equipment dealerships sold nearly 59% more combines in April than in the same month a year ago. The group reported 920 combines were sold across the nation.

U.S. sales of farm tractors rose 6.4% in April, with 22,144 tractors sold.
