Agricultural equipment maker CNH Global NV says it has appointed Steven Bierman as interim chief financial officer, effective June 23.

The Netherlands-based company said Bierman's appointment follows the resignation of Rubin McDougal, whose last day will be June 22.

Bierman will retain his current position as president of the company's finance arm, CNH Capital. He joined CNH in 2005 as vice president of commercial finance for that unit.

Previously, Bierman was chief operating officer and president of Fremont Financial Corp. Earlier, he held positions at General Electric Capital Corp. Bierman, born in 1955, is a certified public accountant.

Shares of CNH gained 4 cents Friday to $17.18 in afternoon trading.
