At the 2025 Dealership Minds Summit in Iowa City, we experienced a Hall of Fame ceremony unlike any before. For the first time, we handed the microphone to the inductees and their families — and the heartfelt stories they shared left a lasting mark on everyone in the room.
Wayne Hunt of H&R Agri-Power is a man of influence, but you wouldn’t immediately know it based on his humble demeanor. Whether it is building up his team leaders to carry on his legacy or advocating for the ag industry in politics, his reach is far and wide. Among Hunt’s accomplishments: H&R Agri-Power was the 2024 Farm Equipment Dealership of the Year and has been selected as a Best-in-Class dealer a record 3 times; the dealership was recognized as a No-Till Innovator in 2023 — only the 2nd machinery dealer to be honored with the award; Hunt has served on the Kentucky Agriculture Development Board since 2000 and the Kentucky Agriculture Finance Corp.
Mazergroup CFO Wally Butler, and Jon and Andrew Mazer, sons of the late Hall of Fame dealer Bob Mazer, spoke about Bob’s remarkable career and the legacy he leaves behind. Bob, a Canadian farmer and machinery dealer, passed unexpectedly in July during an early battle with cancer. His final interview, with Farm Equipment’s Kim Schmidt, appeared in our July/August issue. His last year was monumental — first being selected for the FE Dealer Hall of Fame, and later earning the prestigious Dealership of the Year award.
Similarly, the industry recently lost Ray Koenig of Ohio’s Koenig Equipment just days after he learned of his 2025 Hall of Fame induction. Christine Book’s article would be the last written on Ray. His nephew, CEO Aaron Koenig, surprised us with his presence at the Summit to accept the award alongside his wife. His words, filled with gratitude and emotion, were a poignant tribute to his uncle and mentor.
We invite you to read the full stories of Wayne Hunt, Bob Mazer and Ray Koenig — and to watch this powerful video of the ceremony. These moments remind us why we celebrate the people who shape our industry, and why their legacies deserve to be heard far and wide.
The 12th Annual Dealership Minds Summit will be held on August 4-5, 2026 in Springfield, Ill., with Basic Software and Warranty Consulting Services already committed to return as a Title Sponsor and continue their support of this industry leading event.
