OMAHA, Neb. — CLAAS FARMPOINT just opened its doors in North Dakota, expanding services and investing in the future of area farmers. The temporary Buffalo, N.D., location will ensure farmers have immediate access to equipment, service and support. Meanwhile, construction is underway on a permanent facility in the Jamestown area, as well as a second location in Devils Lake. The Devils Lake location is scheduled to open ahead of 2025 fall harvest season.

“With North Dakota leading the nation in wheat production, ranking second in alfalfa acreage, and placing among the top 10 states for corn and soybean output, it was a natural next step for expansion,” says Opie Kelley, CLAAS FARMPOINT North Dakota complex manager “To the farmers of North Dakota: we’re here, we’re ready and we’re committed to supporting your success — now and into the future.”

In August 2024, Claas and Butler Machinery announced Butler would stop selling Claas equipment. Also in August of 2024, Ziegler Inc. announced it was ending its long-standing Claas combine distribution agreement.

North Dakota growers will now have access to the full CLAAS product lineup, including industry-leading combines, forage harvesters and tractors, plus fast, reliable service. It’s a comprehensive offering designed to meet the diverse and growing needs of the vital ag region.

“We’ve seen that the traditional machinery dealership model doesn’t always align with what today’s farmers need for service and maintenance,” said CLAAS FARMPOINT head of commercial development Patricio Frangella. “Our new approach is designed to better support uptime and boost productivity in the field.”

The CLAAS FARMPOINT model puts service team members much closer to customers. The North Dakota locations will bring parts and service to customers, not the other way around. Remote machinery monitoring makes quick fixes more efficient for customers, minimizing downtime that normally comes with machinery maintenance and upkeep.

"We're excited to become part of the North Dakota agriculture community, where our new location in Buffalo and future locations will offer even more service and maintenance capabilities for our customers," Kelley says. "It's a community with deep roots in agriculture and we're proud to call it the next home for CLAAS FARMPOINT."

The new CLAAS FARMPOINT service center is located at 13889 28th Street SE in Buffalo, ND.
