In No-Till Farmer’s June Ask the Operator webinar, 2023 Conservation Ag Operator Fellow Loran Steinlage of West Union, Iowa, leads a panel discussion about the cost of erosion to farmers and society, and what the no-till community can do to educate other farmers and the public about soil-saving practices like no-till and cover crops. Panelists include No-Till Legend and retired Ohio State University ag engineer Randall Reeder, an outspoken proponent of how no-till can prevent dust storm-related tragedy, plus several other special guests.

Meet the Gator’s Grandad — the John Deere Scamper
Remember the John Deere Scamper, the forerunner of today’s Gator? Mike Saelens owns the extremely rare unit, just 11 were built in 1962. Saelens says he located the machine after finding notes that his father, an equipment salesman for a Deere dealership in Moline, Ill., had collected over the years.
Georgia Ag College Gets New Equipment for Student Farm
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s (ABAC) J.G. Woodruff Farm in Tifton, Ga., received a 5-ton mid-clearance spreader courtesy of Doyle Equipment Manufacturing, Palmyra, Mo. ABAC alumnus Jarrott Mock, territory sales representative for Doyle, was recently at ABAC to visit with the college’s farm staff and present the spreader.
