Flashback : Tractor Negotiations … 1970s-Style

This International Harvester selling “simulation” takes us back to the 1970s and tractor negotiations. “You don’t pick the tractor, the tractor picks you” quips the slick salesman. Another IH vet found a teachable moment for the gamers: no customers looks at all models, no dealer puts a salesman on the lot with 2 weeks experience and serious discussions always took place in the office, not out in the weather. The third recalls selling farm equipment to returning Vietnam vets whose love for U.S.-built equipment was very strong. No comments yet on whether a case of beer got the deal done …
