Emmetsburg, Iowa — Montag Manufacturing continues to support the industry’s need for fertilizer conservation by adding an experienced professional marketer to its staff. Roger Murdock has joined the company as Director of Sales and Marketing and he will lead those activities. Murdock’s career has included several senior corporate positions serving in the tillage, application and harvesting ag sectors.

The appointment by Montag is prompted by the market’s increasing demand for its precision fertilizer and seed delivery systems that not only provide significant savings for producers, but also enhance conservation practices that accurately place fertilizer in the root zone, keeping it out of streams and lakes.

“Mr. Murdock has extensive experience in OEM marketing and dealer network sales support, and we are fortunate to have him join our family of talented employees,” said company CEO, Anthony Montag. “Our innovative products have given Montag a leadership position for the accurate placement of nutrients in the soil, and for the company’s role in supporting the growing demands of conservation regulation,” he continued. “Mr. Murdock’s relationship with key industry players makes him the right fit to facilitate our continued growth.”

Conservation in agricultural practices was at the very heart of the company’s founding, and continues to be its mission today. Anthony Montag has been an active participant in the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance that works with farmers and related partners to drive the adoption of conservation practices and other innovations that will improve water quality. He is presently serving as the organization’s co-chair.
