MEXICO, MO./WATERLOO, Ill. — Two family-owned, full-service John Deere dealer groups headquartered in Mexico, Mo., and Waterloo, Ill., announced plans to merge their businesses today. Sydenstricker Implement Co. and Wm. Nobbe & Co. have partnered to form Sydenstricker-Nobbe Partners and anticipate officially beginning joint operation of 26 Missouri and Illinois dealerships in January 2020.

“For 187 collective years, the Sydenstricker and Nobbe families have served local communities in Missouri and Illinois, sharing similar values and a strong commitment to our employees and customers,” said Eddie Sydenstricker. “To support the growth in our industry, it was a natural step for two multi-generational family businesses from neighboring states to partner.”

“We are proud of our legacies and decades of commitment to our local customers and are excited to have the opportunity to join forces and continue as a family-owned business for years to come,” said Tom Nobbe. “Our name may be changing, but our customer service and dedication to employees, customers and local communities remain as strong as ever.”

Ted Briscoe of St. Louis, Mo., has been named CEO of Sydenstricker-Nobbe Partners. Briscoe currently serves as CEO of Sydenstricker Implement Co.

“Getting larger is critical to our ability to meet the needs of our customers, as they, too, are growing and getting more sophisticated in their support expectations,” Briscoe said. “This scale will allow us to continue to invest in technology and services to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of our industry.”

Sydenstricker-Nobbe Partners will have corporate offices in Mexico, Mo.; Waterloo, Ill.; and in the St. Louis metro area. In addition, Briscoe named four division general managers to lead field operations:

  • Scott Brees, general manager of the Missouri North Division
  • Kevin Cobb, general manager of the Missouri South Division
  • Ben Poletti, general manager of the Metro Division
  • Adam Bunting, general manager of the Illinois East Division

In addition to these positions, both the Nobbe and Sydenstricker families including Tom Nobbe and Eddie Sydenstricker will continue to play active roles within the day-to-day activities of Sydenstricker-Nobbe Partners. Both families will work together to provide an unmatched experience for customers.

With 650 employees, Sydenstricker-Nobbe Partners will have Missouri dealer locations in Chillicothe, Columbia, Curryville, Dutzow, Farmington, Hermann, Kirksville, Macon, Mexico, Moscow Mills, Palmyra, Rocheport, St. Charles, St. Genevieve, Salisbury, Scott City and Tipton. Illinois locations include Albion, Benton, Flora, Jerseyville, Marion, Norris City, Steeleville, Waterloo and Wayne City.
