ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Advantage Ag and Equipment, Zanesville’s New Holland dealer, it will be consolidating stores to create an agriculture super store in Mount Vernon. Employees were advised this week that the Zanesville location will be closing in mid-September, however their jobs would be secured in Mount Vernon.
"They were given the option of relocating or taking a severance package," Manager Jeff Wilson said of the nearly 20 employees.
The decision came about by looking at the growing market areas and planning to better serve current and new customers.
“We want everyone to know we are still here to serve your sales, service and parts needs,” Wilson said. “With our fleet of on-the-road technicians, we are able to make farm service calls just as easily as bringing your machinery to our shop.”
New Holland’s parts department will have a drop area as well as an option for next day shipping to the customer’s door on most items. The company is expanding all areas of business from sales and equipment inventory to the parts department at the Mount Vernon location.
“We will have over $1 million in stocked parts, which is unprecedented for any ag dealer,” Wilson said. “We will also be gearing up on rental department for light construction equipment. The rapid growth for rental in the Zanesville area showed us the potential for this side of the business as well as the importance of putting new equipment out into the market for rent.”
The last business day at the Zanesville location will be Sept. 15, with sales starting on Monday.
