Editor's note, Sept. 15, 2018: This video with Terry Hlavinka of Texas’ Hlavinka  Equipment on the heels of Hurricane Harvey last year explains what life coils be like for some equipment dealers in Carolinas starting in the next few days — and describes what customers will face, flooded-out dealership facilities, displaced employees and months of insurance, paperwork and unproductive time

Terry Hlavinka, general manager of Hlavinka Equipment Co. in East Bernard, Texas, reflects on preparing for Hurricane Harvey and the physical effects of the storm on multiple dealership locations, most notably severe flooding at the Nome, Texas, store. He also discusses productivity setbacks in the aftermath, including many employees being unable to commute to work, while also commending volunteering efforts from the Hlavinka staff across Texas. Hlavinka later describes the once-historic potential of cotton yields in the East Bernard region, and how the storm accounted for an estimated 40% hit on harvested acres.
