HARRISTOWN, Ill. – Two aspiring ag students are the recipients of Jenner Ag’s 2017 Ag Scholarships.

“We began these scholarships to help play a small role in furthering the future of agriculture,” says Steve Jones, president of Jenner Ag. “It’s our honor to present them again this year.”

2017 scholarship recipients are Morgan Lambrecht of Bedford, Ind., and Drake Davis, a two-time winner from Crawfordsville, Ind..

Lambrecht, currently in her sophomore year at Purdue University, is majoring in Agribusiness Management with minors in Animal Science and Political Science. She is part of the Purdue University Honors College and the College of Agriculture’s Dean’s Scholars Learning Community and has studied agriculture abroad in Italy. Currently she serves as an Indiana Dairy Ambassador, helping to advocate for the industry. After graduation, she plans to attend law school and become an attorney specializing in agriculture.

A student in Parkland College’s Case/New Holland service technician program, Davis competed in the Chevron Delo Tractor Restoration Contest for FFA. A 4-H member for 10 years, he continues to participate, volunteering his time with local clubs. He earned his Eagle Scout rank with the Boy Scouts of America and is a member of the Montgomery County Pioneer Association, traveling to fairs promoting agriculture.

This is the 7th year Jenner Ag has offered aspiring ag students in Illinois and Indiana the opportunity to earn support toward their ag degrees. Scholarship amounts vary each year; for 2017, two $1,000 scholarships were available. Ag students from their high school senior year up to their college junior year can apply for assistance furthering their education in an agriculture degree program.
