ABC affiliate KCRG-TV9 reports John Deere workers in Waterloo learned that the company is placing 45 employees on "indefinite layoff."
Deere spokesman Ken Golden tells KCRG-TV9 the layoffs will go into effect on January 18th, 2016.
Golden says the layoffs are part of the 2016 fiscal forecast that the company revealed in November. The company projects that total equipment says will drop seven percent in 2016.
