Cummings & Bricker has purchased a 30,000 square foot building adjacent to the existing facility in Carlisle, Pa. The building has 28,000 square feet of warehouse space and 2000 square feet of office space.
“We started a land development plan to put up an additional building on the original seven acres over two years ago, but when the building next door went up for sale we figured we would be better off buying it and put the other project on hold,” says Jim Cummings.
Immediate plans are to utilize the warehouse space and rent the office area. The acquisition gives C&B nearly 40,000 square feet of warehouse and office space on 10 acres of land along Interstate Highway 81.
“Although we don’t gain as much from the exposure as a retail operation, having 20,000 to 30,000 vehicles a day go past us on Rt. 81 doesn’t hurt,” says Cummings. “We badly needed the space to get inventory under roof. The Batavia, N.Y., operation is 60,000 square feet. The additional square footage in Carlisle will be a big help keeping distress inventory levels lower.”
