John Deere dealer Fillmore Equipment is expanding its facility at 4098 on M-40. Construction began June 1 and will be complete by mid-October,  said Fillmore Equipment partner Dave Timmerman. He declined to estimate the added floor space, but said that the expansion will expand the facility’s floor space by about 60%.

“I guess the whole motive behind it is to raise the level of service for our customers,” he said. The service, parts storage and showroom areas are affected by the expansion.

“As we’ve added a technician and parts inventory, we could use the space,” Timmerman said.
Another reason for the expansion is that farm equipment, industry-wide, is getting bigger, he said.

Timmerman declined to say what the construction cost, but said that most of the construction work is being handled by local contractors.

The family-owned Fillmore Equipment has been in business for more than 30 years, and runs 10 farm equipment centers, most of them in West Michigan.
