AGCO confirmed it has announced a Hesston lay-off.

A total of 154 hourly employees were informed of this Monday, according to an AGCO news release.

There also was a reduction of work week hours announced.

In early June, the company laid off 60 full-time production employees.

The news release stated the "softening market has forced AGCO's management to constantly evaluate its production and workforce in an effort to remain in line with product supply and demand. All regions are being evaluated to adjust production levels to meet market demands and to position AGCO to respond to better market conditions in the future."

Clay Graham, director of human relations at AGCO, said he could not provide further information.

AGCO, a farm equipment manufacturer, employs about 1,500 people and is Harvey County's largest employer.
