Kinze and Yetter unveiled the new Falcon SF700 strip-till system at the Kinze Innovation Day in Williamsburg, Iowa, Tuesday, June 23. Andy Thompson, strip-till product director for Yetter, and Todd Kniffen, senior VP of engineering for Kinze, introduced the new unit to over 150 farmers in attendance.

“The planter-aligned strip-till system is for growers who want the agronomic benefits of strip-till with the familiarity, configuration logic and toolbar confidence of a Kinze planter system, powered by proven Yetter strip-till units,” Kniffen says.

Built around the Kinze 5700 toolbar platform and integrated with Yetter 2984 Strip Freshener CC row unit technology, the Falcon SF700 is designed to create an ideal seedbed environment while maintaining residue between rows and supporting precise nutrient placement.

“Yetter believes strip-till offers meaningful soil health and ROI advantages, and that simplifying adoption is key to helping growers realize those benefits,” Thompson says. “The Falcon SF700 makes strip-till systems easier to integrate into the way growers already farm. By combining Yetter Strip Freshener CC technology with Kinze’s toolbar platform and planter expertise, we’re helping growers create accurate strips and a more consistent planting environment.

“The toolbar is already designed to run at a 24-inch height, perfect for the Yetter strip till units,” he adds. “It has hydraulic wing downforce and the capacity to add liquid fertilizer. It's available in not only 30-inch rows, but also 20-inch and 22-inch rows. So, it fills some voids out there for anybody wanting to strip till in 20- or 22-inch rows aside from the 30-inch rows.”

There were a few strip-tillers in attendance for the big reveal, but most attendees weren’t strip-tillers, and some were learning about the practice for the first time.

“What’s great about this is they didn’t come here today expecting to be talking about strip-till equipment,” Thompson says. “We’ve had a lot of great questions about this machine and how it can fit into their operations. And one of the things we’ve been talking about is stepping into strip-till one step at a time and marrying the planter to the strip-till bar. We’re starting from the planter and working backwards and that can work for anybody that’s in conventional tillage, minimum-till or no-till. They don’t already have to be in a strip-till system for this to be able to resonate with them.”

The Falcon SF700 will be sold and serviced through both Kinze and Yetter distribution, and dealers can start taking orders for the new product on June 29.
