Adam Fennig of shortline equipment dealer Fennig Equipment is giving a special by-request presentation at the Dealership Minds Summit on his ambulance-turned-service vehicle.
The Ohio dealer group bid on an 15,000-mile ambulance on AuctionTime, and quickly converted it to its most efficient and favorite service vehicle. Fennig explains the advantages of ambulance vehicles as service trucks, which are envied by even the big mainline dealers. Things like enough space to accommodate skids, being able stand up inside the truck, the working table/vice, power connections throughout the vehicle, and endless cabinets and drawers that ensure the tech is never without needed parts, fittings and hardware to finish the job.
In addition to the detailed “walk through,” Fennig explains the changes required, investment costs and what he plans to do on the next ambulance purchase coming soon. He also shares farmers’ reactions when seeing Fennig Equipment staff “on call” around town.
