The Equipment Dealers Foundation (EDF) needs your help to serve dealership employees impacted by Hurricane Ida. The EDF Disaster Relief Fund is designed to help offset the financial demands faced by those affected by disaster.

The EDF Disaster Relief Fund was established in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, damaging or destroying member dealerships and their employees’ homes. Since then, the EDF fund has provided grants to association members and their employees who have suffered losses from storms, flooding and other natural disasters.

Grants are provided for losses in U.S. federally declared disaster areas. Payments are based on 10% of the estimated net loss after insurance coverage as declared on the disaster relief application up to a maximum of $2,500.

EDF Disaster Relief grants do not need to be repaid, are not taxable and are not counted as income or a resource in determining eligibility for welfare, income assistance or other income-tested benefit programs funded by the federal government.

Funds may be used for:

  • Food
  • Living expenses
  • Temporary accommodation
  • Home repair
  • Home replacement
  • Permanent home construction
  • Transportation accommodation
  • And other approved needs
