WEST FARGO, N.D. — Titan Machinery has consolidated two South Dakota agriculture stores and one Wyoming construction store to stay ahead of the industry-wide declining agriculture revenue, the slowly rebounding construction industry, and the challenging international climate. The company has also reduced its workforce companywide – including at the Shared Resource Center (SRC) in West Fargo, N.D.

Those affected stores by today’s announcement are located in (and consolidated to):

• Britton, South Dakota (Aberdeen, South Dakota; Lidgerwood, North Dakota; Lisbon, North Dakota)
• Bowdle, South Dakota (Aberdeen, South Dakota; Highmore, South Dakota; Pierre, South Dakota; Wishek, North Dakota)
• Casper, Wyoming (Gillette, Wyoming and Windsor, Colorado)

The store closings, reduction in force, and open positions that will not be filled across the SRC, agriculture, construction, and international represent 14 percent of Titan Machinery’s total workforce.

All closed stores are being consolidated to nearby Titan Machinery stores. As a result, customers of closed stores can continue their sales, rental, parts, and service support at their nearest Titan Machinery store. The neighboring stores have the scale, facility certifications, and employee resources to support the accelerating level of technology and sophistication of today’s and future equipment.

“Consolidating stores and impacting people’s lives is a very difficult decision that we do not take lightly,” said David Meyer, CEO. "We have a responsibility to stay ahead of the challenging business climate, operate efficiently and effectively, and position our company for long-term growth.”

Whenever possible, employees at the consolidated stores have been redirected into new positions. Impacted employees are being treated fairly with transition assistance.
