The value of U.S. farm equipment rose by 3.7% in February 2010 compared with the previous month, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories and Orders report released yesterday.

The DOC reported that value of farm machinery shipped in February reached nearly $2.4 billion. This is up from $2.29 billion in January.

Year-to-date, the value of farm equipment shipped is down 7.8% in 2010 vs. 2009. Through February 2010, ag machinery shipments are $4.63 billion compared with $5.03 billion during the same period in 2009.
