Shearer Equipment, an Ohio-based John Deere dealer, has signed a letter of intent to sell its assets to Ag-Pro Ohio LLC, a subsidiary of Ag-Pro Companies. According to Shearer Equipment, the transaction will take place Jan. 30, 2019.

Shearer Equipment's goal early on was to expand across Northeast Ohio with the knowledge to be competitive in in a growing agricultural, turf and small construction equipment market. They were able to accomplish this through the addition of 7 locations and over 160 employees since the start of the company in 1937.

“While this has allowed us to be on the leading edge, it is now time to make further changes to allow our employees and our customers access to the greatest opportunities and the brightest future that we feel is possible,” says Owner Brian Giaque.

Ag-Pro will continue with the current Shearer Equipment employees.
