Sparks from welding equipment are being blamed for a fire that extensively damaged Redekop's farm equipment manufacturing plant in Saskatoon.

Dave Needham with the Ministry of Public Safety Policing says the sparks ignited flammable material while workers were involved in a paint job at Redekop Manufacturing on October 24.

Needham says no charges will be laid because the fire was accidental. No one was hurt in the blaze that caused millions of dollars in damage.

Some nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution and firefighters were hampered by a lack of water at the site.
