The Birkey's Farm Store dealership in Henry, Ill., isn't just the company's latest acquisition; it's a brand new facility. Birkey's acquired the store formerly Read Bros. from Bob and Jerry Read in July. The new store opened in August and is Birkey's first acquisition since acquiring its Annawan, Ill., store in 2008. The dealer group has 12 stores in Illinois and one in Indiana.

Horsch Anderson Breaks Ground on New Manufacturing Facility

To accommodate its significant growth, Horsch Anderson, LLC, will break ground on a new manufacturing facility in Mapleton, N.D., on Saturday, August 25, 2012. It will be located on a 30-acre lot north of Interstate 94 near the Mapleton exit. The initial stage of the project will include a 100,000-square-foot building, which will contain offices and a large production area. Within five years Horsch Anderson projects to employ 80 people or more at the facility.

Bridgestone Announces Capital Investment Project for Des Moines Farm Tire Facility

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (Bridgestone Americas) today announced plans for an additional $74 million investment to further expand capacity at its primary agricultural tire manufacturing facility in Des Moines, Iowa. Combined with the ongoing $77 million investment project announced in March of 2010, Bridgestone Americas will invest a total of $151 million in the facility to confirm the company's commitment to maintaining its leadership position in the agricultural tire industry.

AGCO Parts Expands Kansas City Facility to Keep Customers in the Field

AGCO, Your Agriculture Company (NYSE: AGCO), a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, announces the expansion of its current Kansas City, Mo., AGCO Parts facility to a full-service parts distribution center (PDC). The facility, located in Independence, Mo., covers 900,000 square feet and now includes $100 million of parts inventory, an increase of nearly 40 percent.
