How Will Case IH Respond to Precision Planting Sale?

August 7, 2017

On July 26, AGCO announced it had agreed to acquire Precision Planting from The Climate Corp., a subsidiary of Monsanto. We polled Farm-Equipment.com visitors on how they thought Case IH would react to the sale. More than half of respondents (54.4%) don’t expect Case IH to change anything and to continue on with the Precision Planting technology. We conducted a similar poll back in 2015 when Deere was in line to acquire Precision Planting. Back then, just 23% of respondents thought Case IH would stick with the Precision technology.

Slightly more than 18% say Case IH will invest in its own proprietary solutions vs. 31% who responded this way when Deere was the heir apparent. About 10% think Case will acquire another manufacturer or supplier compared to 17% in 2015 and 16.3% think Case will create a similar partnership with another technology source vs. 29% when the Deere deal was announced.
