CWC and Harmony Co-ops to Merge; Riesterer & Schnell to Buy Deere Store

The boards of Central Wisconsin Cooperative in Stratford and Harmony Country Cooperative in Colby have voted to merge the agricultural cooperatives, becoming just the latest in a string of co-op mergers in Wisconsin.

In a letter to members, the co-ops' boards said the merger will result in improved savings, expanded services and continued equity payouts.

Central Wisconsin Cooperative also has agreed to sell its John Deere dealership to Riesterer & Schnell Inc., which owns 12 other locations in the state.
