Responding to ever-increasing residue levels and customer needs for improved seed bed preparation, Krause Corporation has introduced the new 5635 Field Cultivator.

Based on the popular model 5630 that it replaces, the new 5635 enhances residue handling capabilities and improves residue flow between the shanks as a result of delivering industry leading shank-to-shank distance between the critical last two rows of uniformly spaced shanks, while maintaining a narrow 6-inch overall shank spacing.

Additionally, all sizes are now available with Krause's exclusive 24/7® Leveling Systems that utilize a combination of either 3-rows of tines or spikes with a reel for superior residue distribution and clod sizing.

This new model boasts several new features to improve both customer and dealer convenience. The Tractor Interface Center — which prevents hydraulic hoses from binding in turns and provides storage for manuals, hydraulic hoses and light hookup for the high-visibility LED lights — is now standard on all 5635 Field Cultivators. A hose-routing chart and color-coded hose grips, along with a new cast tongue that is compatible with tractor auto drawbar pin systems, are additional time saving features.

Available in sizes from 20 to 50 feet, the 5635 offers 2 shank mounts with 180- to190-lb. point load, a two-piece K-tine for non-rocky conditions and a spring-cushioned mount with 15-inch trip height suitable for rocky soils. Both mounts are available in either an edge-on or flat shank design to optimize residue flow and desired soil mixing.

Uniform tillage depth is ensured with the use of positive mechanical depth control and standard self-leveling hitch with gauge wheels on each wing section. For growers with rolling fields and uneven terrain, the optional patented floating hitch system combines precise ground following characteristics with traditional transport operation by transforming into a rigid, self-leveling style hitch and raising the caster wheels off the road during transport.

The new model also addresses convenience needs of dealers. A new stronger, easier to mount shank clamp substantially reduces set-up time and improves quality, while shank locations are marked on the frames to ensure product consistency.
