New Facility in Aberdeen, S.D.

September 25, 2012 — Titan Machinery moved into its new building on the east side of Aberdeen at 4411 Sixth Ave. S.E. just in time to help farmers during the harvest season.
"When we started construction, the goal was to be in the new facility before harvest began, and we met that goal," said Jerry Hacker, manager.
The new building opened for business Sept. 10.
Titan sells and services Case IH tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment, as well as provides parts and services for Case Construction equipment.
The new building is much larger than Titan's previous one at 5055 U.S. Highway 12 East. The new structure has a 56,563-square-foot main office and shop and a 20,800-square-foot storage building.
In the southwest corner of the structure is an expo room the size of a basketball court with large windows on two sides to let in light. The room will be used for training seminars and to display combines and tractors.
The two shop areas have room to service dozens of pieces of equipment. There are overhead cranes, permanent oil feeder lines, in-floor heating and safety features such as an advanced fire alarm system.
"It is really state of the art," said Hacker.
The facility also has an indoor wash bay for equipment, a locker room, kitchen, offices and plenty of storage for parts.
"The biggest benefit is the space," said Hacker. "The extra space allows us to serve our customers better."
There are 35 employees. Titan plans to hire more workers now that it is in its new building, Hacker said.
The growth in the business in the last four to five years necessitates it, he said.
The old Titan building will be remodeled for occupancy by the H.C. Clark New Holland dealership.
Titan plans to have a grand opening sometime after harvest is finished, Hacker said. The date will depend on the weather and when farmers have brought in their crops.
The Titan company, with headquarters in West Fargo, N.D., has 98 stores in nine states as well as 10 European dealerships, according to its website.
"Titan Machinery is investing in the community and the farmers in this area by building this building," Hacker said.
