Third Annual Wall Street ‘Ag Day’ A Success
New York, NY. – March 3 -- Morgan Joseph and Lessiter Publications’ Ag Equipment Intelligence hosted a third annual “Ag Day” for investment fund managers on March 3 at the Westin Times Square. The event drew 65 attendees from 48 different investment fund houses, who in at least one case managed up to $14 billion.
For the first time, the event concluded with a full, 90-minute question-and-answer session, and several attendees commented that it was the best event yet.
In addition to presentations by Charlie Rentschler, Morgan Joseph, and Frank Lessiter, Lessiter Publications (Farm Equipment and Ag Equipment Intelligence), the agenda included six speakers highlighting what’s happening in agriculture for the Wall Street community. Speakers include:
Allen Berry, from Nauvoo, Ill., farms 2,300 acres, mostly corn and beans, and is an expert on narrow-row corn planting, no-tilling continuous corn and weed management.

Jim Leverich, from Sparta, Wis., farms 500 acres and works full-time as a researcher for the Univ. of Wisconsin ag department, and is highly proficient in the use and misuse of fertilizers.
Joe Nester, farmer from Bryan, Ohio, leases out his own 500-acre farm as he is a full-time crop consultant to 100 clients who own more than 300,000 acres in the eastern Corn Belt, and is also an expert on GPS for mapping and zone management.
Troy Prescott, from Winchester, Ind., farms 2,500 acres and was a founder and chairman of Cardinal Ethanol, Union City, Ind., a successful independent refinery with some 1,200 shareholders.
