Omaha, Neb. — CLAAS of America is announced that Daryl Theis has joined the company as the new Head of Marketing. Theis fills the role made available by the promotion of long-time marketing leader Bob Armstrong to VP Product Management — Sales.

“Daryl has an extensive background in strategic marketing within the agricultural sector,” explained Eric Raby, CLAAS of America President and General Manager – Sales. “In prior roles at BASF and Eli Lilly & Co., he successfully implemented marketing strategies that grew brand awareness, increased channel sales and improved product positioning. He’s an exciting addition to the CLAAS North America Management Team.”

Daryl’s last several years were spent with BASF Crop Protection, where he took on expanding roles in Product and Senior Market Management. In his latest position, he led a cross-functional team that increased BASF’s U.S. Corn & Soybean Business. Daryl also worked for ELANCO Animal Health — a division of Eli Lilly & Co. — taking on a number of progressive sales and account management roles, including several years leading their global initiatives.

Daryl grew up on a diversified farming operation in Northeast Iowa and has an extensive farming background as well.

Daryl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture systems technology from Iowa State University in Ames; a Master of Science degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University, West Layfayette, Ind.; and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business, Bloomington, Ind.
